If you’re interested in making or editing textures for your mod/map then they’ll need to be in DDS format. You could find a converter or whatever, but if you’re a Photoshop user you can just install this simple plugin.

Not everyone has the time, ability, need or just patience to build a building in a 3D modeling environment, import it into the engine etc. You can use the Solid tool to construct buildings with just a few clicks of the mouse.

Learn how to add physics to any object or model you desire! This is a popular question, as a lot of the objects don’t have physics already enabled on them, so you have to do them yourself. It’s not completely obvious, but it’s still incredibly easy.

Whilst you can do a lot of stuff in the Perspective view, it really does help to have another 1 or 2 views to get total precision. Configuring your layout gives you greater flexibility when designing your map and you don’t have to keep zooming around perspective view awkwardly.

For some reason Crytek didn’t include the popular CTRL + S hotkey which is internationally recognized as the save hotkey! Luckily, you can actually put this in yourself which is very helpful indeed for those who save as a reflex, not particularly consciously.
